I’ve been a Designer and cabinetmaker for 37 yrs, but started my bbq journey back in 2006 on my honeymoon in Cyprus, while visiting my Uncle Kris. It was in his back yard, under an olive tree, as he was using the famous Foukou Cypriot bbq. A motorised rotisserie that cooks fist sized pieces(Souvla) of Pork or chicken on three long skewers that gently cook the meat until done. I’d never tasted pork so tender and tasty, the chicken was crispy on the outside, really juicy, and not dry. It was a revelation that meat could be barbecued and taste Smokey and tender, and not dried out like the normal barbecue I’d choked down to be polite to friends and family!! Within 2 weeks of my return I’d purchased a Foukou and had cooked a passable shoulder of pork. Fast forward 18 yrs of constant striving to cook perfect bbq and building the perfect bbq with which to cook it on, I now cook on an American off-set smoker, with a few ‘Man in Shed’ twists. I’ve also picked up a couple of stray Meat lovers (Jake and Duncan) who’ve been fooled into helping me on this fun journey to bring great BBQ to the UK.

After a long career in sales and 15 years as operations manager for The Cotswold Company, I currently run a property maintenance company with my wife Desiree.

I have always had a passion for food, many summer evenings over the years have been spent around the BBQ in the back garden perfecting recipes and sharing delicious food with friends and family.

At 51 I am building my most personal project yet. Serving the American style burgers & BBQ I love, along with my 2 buddies, Mark & Duncan.
